Making their debut on a street in Shibuya with "Super Rat", an artist group, Chim↑Pom has drawn attention while creating a succession of works that intervene on cities, including "BLACK OF DEATH" and "Don't Follow the Wind." With a theme of "Sukurappu ando Birudo" (destruction and renewal) of Tokyo, the group has initiated a new project.
This book is a complete record of a series of works from the "Sukurappu ando Birudo Project." It began from the exhibition/event "So see you again tomorrow, too~" at the Shopping District Promotion Associate Building in Kabuki-cho, right before demolition of the building. Rubble from the building was buried under the Kita-Kore Building in Koenji. In cooperation with an architect, Takashi Suo, the project was finished with the completion of a road (public sphere) above the rubble of the building. Numerous documentary photos and comments from involved people clearly describe the process of urban renewal through activities of Chim↑Pom in cities. This project, however, is not yet complete in this book. The final form depends on the redevelopment of Tokyo.
